MISSIONS

Serving the Wider Community

As United Methodists, we believe the work of the church is the work of all people. Each of us is called to participate and to put our faith into action. This means living into our promise to support the ministries of the church by our prayers, our presence, our gifts, our service, and our witness.

Local Community Work

Waushara County Food Pantry

Collects and distributes food to those in need. It is located in Wautoma, but includes mobile pantries in three other communities within the county. Volunteers from our congregation load vehicles every Friday and collect groceries at church four times per year.

Treehouse Central, Wautoma Branch

Offers help and hope to teens in the area, giving them a faith-based support group that leads them to believe in themselves and support the community. Volunteers from our church provide occasional meals and donate monies from our mission fundraising events.

Holiday Community Project

A county-wide project supported by numerous service groups, churches, our food pantry, and area schools to provide a holiday meal, coats, pajamas, and toys to families in need. Grace UMC collects toys, hats, and mittens for this project.

Back to School Bash

A county-wide project of Waushara County Human Services, designed to give all elementary children the basic supplies they need to begin their new school year. Grace UMC collects backpacks and supplies.

Community Outreach/Hispanic Ministry

Started three ago to help families who are not served regularly by the area food pantry. Each April, we collect foods and deliver them to our local mobile home park families and Hispanic families in Wautoma. (Due to transportation issues and work schedules, many cannot or do not use the local food pantry.)

Coffee Fellowship Time

is a gathering before and after worship for coffee, treats and fellowship. Please join us!

The Wautoma Community Garden

The garden is located at Grace United Methodist Church at N2133 Southgate Terrace in Wautoma. Each Fall, cow manure and leaves were tilled in to the soil for fertilizer. Every Spring, the garden is tilled again and made ready for planting. The garden contains four plots that are 12’x15’ in the front of the garden, six plots that are 15’x25’ in the middle, and two plots that are 12’x12’ in the back of the area. In addition, there are two raised beds that are 4’x8’ x 2’-6” high for those that have a problem bending over. Water is available for your use. See the April newsletter for details, or call the church office at 920-787-4668 to secure a plot. Then just bring your seeds, plants, and enjoy your bounty of veggies this summer!
